Reminders that actually reach you

A reminder is only useful if it arrives. The hard part usually isn't setting one — it's that the alert lands while your phone is on silent, buried under a Focus mode, or somewhere in the pile of notifications you swipe away without reading. Beck gives you a few different ways to make sure the reminders that matter get through, matched to how much they matter.

Basic reminders

Give any task a date and time and Beck sends you a notification. No account required, nothing sent to a server — it's a local notification scheduled on your device, so it works fully offline. This is the everyday case, and it's free. For most of what you need to remember, it's all you need.

Time-Sensitive alerts

iOS lets certain notifications break through Focus and Do Not Disturb when they genuinely can't wait. Beck can mark a reminder as Time-Sensitive so it surfaces even while you're in a Focus mode — the right tool for "leave now" and "this is due in ten minutes" moments you can't afford to have muted. Use it sparingly and it stays meaningful.

Gentle repeat nagging

One ping is easy to dismiss and then forget entirely. For the tasks that really need doing, Beck can nudge you again at an interval you choose until you actually deal with it — a gentle, repeating "bug me" rather than a single alert that vanishes into history. It's the difference between a reminder and a reminder that sticks around long enough to work.

Location reminders

Some things are tied to a place, not a time. Beck can fire a reminder when you arrive at or leave a location — remember the returns when you reach the post office, or grab your gym bag as you walk out the door. Location is handled on your device only, with your permission; your live whereabouts are never sent to us. (See the Privacy Policy for exactly how that works.)

Recurring reminders

For anything that repeats — bins on Tuesday, the weekly review, a monthly bill — set it once and Beck brings it back on schedule, so you're not re-creating the same task over and over.

Which one to reach for

  • Routine, not urgent → a basic timed reminder.
  • Must not be missed → Time-Sensitive.
  • Easy to ignore but important → repeat nagging.
  • Depends on where you are → a location reminder.
Stop losing reminders in the pile. Basic reminders are free; Time-Sensitive alerts, repeat nagging, and location reminders are part of Beck Pro — and because Beck is local-first, they're scheduled on your device with no tracking server behind them. See what Beck can do →
